  • "The first version of the openSUSE-Education Add-on is drawing to a close. By releasing the final version for SUSE Linux Enterprise 10 and the first Release Candidate for 11.1, we hopefully have the first community Add-On media which is available for each (open)SUSE Release, soon!"

Joe Brockmeier: Recordatorio de Smolt… ¡queremos tus perfiles de hardware!

  • "Just a quick reminder - when you install openSUSE 11.1, please be sure to run Smolt to send the hardware profile to the Smolt project. I’m looking over on the Smolt Web site and the participation seems to be a bit less than 30% in terms of people who’ve run Smolt vs. people who seem to have installed openSUSE and run an update. ..."

En la comunidad

Joe Brockmeier: Cuidado y alimentación de la prensa, estilo de la comunidad

  • "With the openSUSE launch last week, I spent quite a bit of time talking to press — either on the phone, via e-mail, and on IM — about openSUSE 11.1. In 2009, I hope that many members of the openSUSE community will have opportunities to speak to press at one point or another, in order to promote and educate about the work that’s being done within openSUSE. I can give high-level overviews of features and trends in the community, but no one is going to explain the importance of work on specific projects as well as the people who actually do the work. So don’t be surprised if you get an email from me or someone in Novell PR saying “hey, can you talk to somebody about your work…?”..."

Comunidad openSUSE de Indonesia: Curso de Zimbra Mail Server

  • "Indonesian openSUSE community organized training event about Zimbra Mail Server on Saturday, December 20, 2008. It was a preliminary event for openSUSE 11.1 release party on Saturday and Sunday, December 20-21 2008. Although there was an issue about ending of Zimbra implementation support for openSUSE on next version (Zimbra 6 Gun and Roses), I decided that it would be important to show the audience, how easy setting up openSUSE for Zimbra Mail Server."
